Mr. PK Goel joined HVAC Industry in 1977. He has worked with Voltas, UTS Carrier, York International and Johnson Controls in various capacities till 2012.He is currently working as an Independent Consultant in the Building Energy and HVAC field. He has extensive hands-on work experience in HVAC Controls including Control Panels for Multistage Air-cooled Centrifugal Chillers and Sequence Controllers for Multiple Large Chiller plants . He has worked on Design , Installation and Commissioning of numerous District Cooling Plants in the Middle East

He graduated in 1977 with Bachelor of Technology ( Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur. He cleared LEED_AP Examination conducted by GBCI for USGBC in August 2008. He extensively teaches 'HVAC System Design' and 'HVAC Controls' .

Cdr Atul Kumar Rohatgi

IIT-BHU(B Tech), IIT-Delhi(PG) and FMS- DU (MBA)


Cdr Atul Kumar Rohatgi is an alumnus of IIT-BHU(B Tech), IIT-Delhi(PG) and FMS- DU (MBA). He was the founder Head of the HVAC design group in Warship Design Bureau. P-17 Frigate HVAC was designed by the Germans in late 1990s. Cdr Rohatgi, was responsible for the HVAC design of Indian Air Craft Carrier (INS Vikrant) which was the next major project. He studied all drawings and calculations that came with P-17 HVAC design and prepared a detailed procedure for HVAC calculations and design of ships. Cdr Rohatgi has also trained his entire supporting colleagues and staff in Warship Design Bureau to contribute to HVAC design effectively. Cdr Rohatgi has contributed to HVAC design of several ships of Indian Navy –which include P-15A Destroyers, IAC, P-28 Corvettes, P-16A Frigates.

Post retirement from Navy, Cdr Rohatgi has worked as Head of Design in Noske Kaeser Gmbh. and as Sr Project Manager and Design Head (Navy) in Johnson controls. He has taught the intricacies of HVAC design to several batches of constructor- Naval Architect officers in Shipwright school Visakhapatnam, in Mazgaon Docks and in L&T Chennai. Cdr Rohatgi has also been associated with ISHRAE as a teaching faculty and has travelled internationally to educate young engineers in the art and science of HVAC design.

Currently, Cdr Rohatgi is acting as Dean and Coordinator of IIE.

Mr Ajay Raj

Mr Ajay Raj is an Indian Green Building Accredited Professional IGBC AP and a Life time member of ISHRAE.

Mr Ajay Raj is heading A2S Consulting Engineers. His previous experiences include working for companies like LG Electronics (Sales Engineering Team- LG Chillers/ VRV system with AHUs etc.), Walmart International as Head of MEP Services, Sterling India as MEP Consultant and Project Manager, ANFILCO – a filter manufacturing company as Quality Control in Charge.

Mr Ajay Raj also has also published several articles in journals like Cooling India. He has three decades of experience in design, quality control, manufacturing, execution, testing and commissioning of new projects and building upgradation/ renovation/ energy conservation solutions.

Mr Ajay Raj is a guest faculty at IIE and has been teaching several topics related to HVAC.
